Speeko alternatives

We make Charisma Lab, one of the five alternatives below. If Speeko already gives you what you need, keep it. We say where it's the better pick.

Short answer

Pick by what you want to work on.

What Speeko does and what it costs

Speeko gives you AI feedback on your pace, filler words, tone, pauses and more. In AI roleplays it calls Convos, you practice job interviews, difficult conversations and small talk. Its lessons and courses include training developed with the voice coach Roger Love. For rehearsing a talk or an interview, its website lists digital notecards, interview prompts and vocal warm-ups. You can also book a human coach. The first session is a 30-minute assessment for $49.99.

The app is free to download and includes some free exercises and tools. Speeko's website says you don't need an account to use them. Speeko Pro adds more features, lessons and practice. On the US App Store, Full Access is $24.99 a month or $99.99 a year, and a plan called Access is $79.99 a year. Speeko's website lists other prices: $29.99 a month, an annual plan shown as $8.33 a month with a 7-day free trial, and $299.99 for lifetime access. Apple lists the app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision, and the website says it's on Android and the web too. App Store listing · Speeko's pricing page

Five alternatives to Speeko

Charisma Lab

WHAT YOU DO Talk out loud about the moment you're preparing for, then hear your recording played back. The AI coach tells you what to fix, like "drop your pitch on the last three words," and you say it again. Train splits delivery into 48 techniques across six skills. Voice Cam on the home screen shows your volume, pitch and pauses as you talk.

NEXT TO SPEEKO Both give you AI feedback on how you speak. Speeko pairs its feedback with roleplays, courses and human coaches. Charisma Lab's coach gives spoken feedback on the talk or answer you're preparing, then sends you back to say it again.

PICK IT IF you know your material and lose the room on how you say it: statements that rise like questions, a flat voice, sentences that trail off.

BEFORE YOU PAY Made for iPhone and iPad. Setup is free and includes a short live session with the coach. After that the app needs Pro, which is $14.99 a month in the US. That's less than Speeko's $24.99 monthly plan. We have no yearly plan, so a year of Pro costs $179.88, and Speeko's yearly Full Access plan is $99.99. We're new, so we only have 14 ratings. Wellspoken

WHAT YOU DO Practice for about five minutes a day on finding the right words and getting to your point. Practice modes include mock interviews, meeting roleplays, impromptu speaking and conversation drills. Each recording gets a Wellspoken Index score out of 1,000, built from structure, conciseness, confidence, pronunciation, filler rate and pace. There's a vocabulary trainer too. On a Mac, its desktop app can record your Google Meet, Zoom and Teams calls and score how you spoke.

NEXT TO SPEEKO Both give AI feedback and have roleplays and daily practice. Wellspoken's website says it's built for people who know what they mean but can't get it out cleanly under pressure, more than for someone preparing a keynote. Speeko also has tools for rehearsing a presentation or a speech, like digital notecards.

PICK IT IF you freeze, ramble or lose your words in meetings and interviews, and want a short daily drill with a score you can track.

BEFORE YOU PAY Apple lists it for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision. Its website links to an Android app and a desktop app for Mac. Full access needs a subscription, and the website says the free tier includes three scored practice sessions a week. Plans on the US App Store run from $4.99 a week to $89.99 a year, with monthly plans at $12.99 and $17.99. App Store listing · Wellspoken's fact sheet

Vocal Image

WHAT YOU DO Follow a short plan each day that mixes an AI roleplay, voice training with instant voice analysis, warm-ups, breathing exercises, short videos and mini podcasts. In the roleplays, an AI plays someone like your manager, your partner or your teenager. There are accent and English pronunciation courses too.

NEXT TO SPEEKO Both have AI roleplays and short daily practice. Vocal Image's plan also mixes in breathing exercises, and it has accent courses. Its roleplays include people at home as well as at work.

PICK IT IF you want a few minutes of voice training, breathing and roleplay a day, for home as well as work.

BEFORE YOU PAY Apple lists it for iPhone, iPad and Apple Vision, and its website says it's on Android and the web too. It's free to download, and its listing says you can start a free trial. US plans run from $7.99 a week to $129.99 a year, with monthly plans at $12.99 and $19.99. App Store listing · Vocal Image alternatives

Orai

WHAT YOU DO Rehearse a prepared talk or speak freely. Orai scores each recording on filler words, pace, clarity, energy, confidence and conciseness. You get a scorecard with coaching tips, your transcript and the recording to play back. It also has short lessons and practice scenarios for presentations, interviews, meetings and sales pitches.

NEXT TO SPEEKO Both give AI feedback on a talk you rehearse, and both have short lessons. Orai's yearly plan is $49.99, about half of Speeko's $99.99 Full Access plan.

Free alternatives to Speeko

Try Speeko's own free version first: its website says the main features are free and need no account. Wellspoken's website says its free tier includes three scored practice sessions a week. Yoodli's Starter plan is free for 5 sessions. Speaker Coach in PowerPoint for the web is free with a Microsoft account, for rehearsing slides (Microsoft's guide). Charisma Lab isn't free after setup.

For free practice with no app, record yourself on your phone and play it back. How to record yourself practicing a speech covers what to listen for, and how to stop saying um and like has drills for filler words.

Practice out loud with an AI coach in Charisma Lab

Charisma Lab is a speaking coach on your iPhone. In Speak, tap the center and tell the coach what you're preparing for, like a talk or an interview. Say it out loud one part at a time. A pause of about two seconds ends a take. You hear the take played back, then the coach tells you what to fix and sends you back in.

To see your delivery while you talk, open Voice Cam on the home screen and record, with the camera or audio only. Each recording runs up to a minute. It shows your volume, pitch and pauses, plus an estimate of your pace in words per minute. Setup is free and includes a short live session with the coach. After that, the app needs Pro, which is $14.99 a month in the US. See pricing.
